St Vincent’s Hospital has a long-standing reputation for treating acutely unwell and complex patients. The Hospital also carries out extensive research and is closely associated with the Garvan Institute of Medical Research and Victor Chang Cardiac Research Institute, both of which are housed on the St Vincent’s Campus.
St Vincent’s Hospital is part of the South Eastern Sydney and Illawarra Area Health Service. It is a teaching hospital of the University of New South Wales and has academic associations with the Australian Catholic University, University of Sydney and the University of Technology, Sydney.
