The Speech Pathology Department at St Vincent’s Hospital provides a range of specialised services to the community.
The St Vincent’s Voice Clinic provides a state-wide service for the management of voice disorders. Read more.
Specialised outpatient services for the management of swallowing and communication disorders are available for patients with head and neck cancer. Read more.
An Outpatient Neurological Speech, Language and Swallowing Service is available. Read more.
Voice training for patients with neurological disorders including Parkinson’s disease and stroke. Read more.
Voice therapy is provided for patients with voice disorders.
Workshops for teachers are run with the department of Otolaryngology every school term. Read more.
A weekly videofluoroscopy service (Modified Barium Swallow Clinic) for the assessment of swallowing disorders is available to outpatients and inpatients. Read more.
Inpatient services are provided in both the acute and rehabilitation settings. Services include the assessment, treatment and management of swallowing disorders, including patients with tracheostomy, and communication disorders (speech and language disorders). Read more.
How to Refer
| Inpatients | All St Vincent’s Hospital inpatients require a referral from their medical team. Please fax a referral form to 02 8382 3687. |
| Outpatients | If you would like to book an appointment, please contact 02 8382 3372. A medical referral will be required for attendance at the Voice Clinic and Modified Barium Swallow Clinic. |
