Family Support & Info

For the family of people using alcohol or other drugs

Why do people take drugs?
There are a lot of reasons why people take drugs and ADIS can provide you with support, information and referral if you have concerns about your family member. These reasons may relate to stress, anxiety, emotional or behavioural management, self medication (trying to manage psychological symptoms), peer behaviour, trauma, or habit, but are specific to each individual and hard to generalise.

There are several helpful websites that may be of assistance
