Philosophy
The staff at Rankin Court, believe in the individual’s right to a drug free and healthy lifestyle, and that this can be obtained in a community-based program giving the patient freedom to go about his/her daily life in a productive and socially integrated way.
We also believe in the patient’s right to make informed decisions on his or her health care and to be optimally involved in the planning and implementation of his/her health care management. This is seen to be best achieved by offering a supportive environment where a positive worker/patient relationship can be developed and emphasis placed on changes towards a healthy lifestyle.
We believe that if patients are given the opportunity to choose pathways to a healthier lifestyle they are more likely to be successful in improving their quality of life.
We believe and utilise the principals of Harm Reduction. The services are patient focussed, and treatment matching is an important facet of health care delivery in order to achieve optimal health outcomes.
We operate within a healthy lifestyle orientation with health promotion and illness prevention being integral components of the service.
