Clinical Services Team

Treatment and education for the general community in many forums.

The unit operates from a harm minimization philosophy and tailors treatment to meet the needs of the individual. A number of therapeutic approaches are utilized, including cognitive behavioural therapy, narrative and systemic, tailored to meet the individual needs of the patient.

Counselling
Patients can access up to six sessions of individual counselling for no cost.  If longer treatment is required, referrals to groups or other services will be offered.  The team provides counselling services to outpatients to assist in adjustment to a new lifestyle, often without drugs.

Controlled Drinking Program
The CST also runs a Controlled Drinking Program where patients are assessed and taken through strategies on a weekly basis to give them skills to drink moderately.

Education Programs
The CST Team provides services to corporations including OHS educational programs to inform employees about the risks associated with alcohol or other drug use/misuse in the workplace.

Whilst the service does not provide reports, a letter of attendance at the completion of treatment can be arranged.
