
Carer Information
What does DAS do?
The Dementia Advisory Service
- Organises and/or convenes Seminars and Workshops for the delivery of Education and Information to Carers
- Supports Service Providers - Councils, Hospitals, Community Health Services, Community-based and non-government organisations in the delivery of Carer-specific functions and information
- Generally organises information to be made available that is aimed at informing, and educating, the Carer
- Helps formulates information where necessary
- Works closely with associated Divisions of General Practitioners
This is carried out by:
- Sourcing and ensuring the latest Carer-specific information is available to Dementia-specific Service Providers
- Maintaining a close working relationship with those Service Providers in the provision of information, general or carer-specific Seminars and Workshops, Community Information Days, and other Information Sessions as required
- Advocating where necessary to funding organisations for Carer-specific needs
What doesn’t DAS do?
The Dementia Advisory Service
- Does not work directly in the support of Carers
- Does not conduct Carer Support Groups
- Does not facilitate Carer-specific Seminars or Workshops
