Professor Middleton was appointed as Professor of Nursing Research at St Vincents and Mater Health Sydney in March 2008. Professor Middleton has been working in the area of health services evaluation for the past nineteen years. She is particularly interested in stroke research focusing on nurse led interventions to improve patient outcomes. Her interests also cover implementation research, clinician behaviour change and evidence based practice.
Professor Middleton has an active health leadership profile in Australia and sits on a number of peak bodies including: the Greater Metropolitan Clinical Taskforce Governing Committee.
Associate Professor Elizabeth McInnes RN PhD

A/Prof Liz McInnes has worked at the SV&MHS ACU NRI since February 2009. A/Prof McInnes has fifteen years of experience in primary research, systematic reviews and guideline development. At an international level, A/Prof McInnes recently worked at the United Kingdom’s prestigious National Institute for Clinical Excellence managing the development of guidelines and systematic reviews for the National Collaborating Centre for Nursing and Supportive Care. Her research areas of interest include systematic review methodology (qualitative and quantitative studies) and clinical outcomes research.
