Course Overview	This program aims to assist the Perioperative Nurse in the development of knowledge and skills related to advanced laparoscopic surgery. It will provide a insight and information for the Perioperative Nurse to further develop their knowledge, skills and confidence in the circulating and instrument role for complex laparoscopic surgery. It will provide detailed information on complex surgeries pertaining to gynae, bariatric, paediatric and general laparoscopic specialties.
Key Topics	This program consists of lectures in the morning and workstations in the afternoon, during which we will: Discuss the role of the perioperative nurse in complex gynaecological laparoscopic surgery; Identify and discuss crisis management during laparoscopic surgery ‘when things go wrong’; Discuss the complications and issues associated with laparoscopic paediatric surgery Describe Robotic laparoscopic surgeries and their complications; Participate in the solving of complex laparoscopic issues and trouble shooting in a clinical environment Describe routine laparoscopic bariatric surgery procedures.
